Study with us Sundays at 9:45 a.m.
Pray with us at worship, at bible study, or at prayer group.
Morris offers several Sunday school classes each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. We have classes for children and adults. The children engage in some active and creative learning activities.
We offer four adult classes:
- The Julia Kendall Class offers biblical insights into everyday living. This class meets in the church library on the main floor of the education unit.
- The Morris Bible Class studies the bible with the aid of the traditional International Lesson Series quarterlies. The class meets in the conference room around the corner from the sanctuary.
- The Adult Bible Class goes through the Bible, book by book, looking for practical applications of biblical truths. This class meets on the second floor of the education building in the classroom farthest from the sanctuary.
- The Young Adult Class applies biblical truths to everyday life issues. This class meets in Room 204 on the second floor of the education unit. Their current study unit is on spiritual "guardrails."
Our Wednesday Morning Bible Study takes an in-depth look at specific books of the Bible. This group meets at 10:30 to share prayer concerns, pray, and then study the scripture. We generally finish our study a little before noon, and many of us stay to enjoy lunch together.
Our Wednesday Evening Bible Study also takes an in-depth look at specific books of the bible. We meet at 6:30 upstairs in the room farthest from the sanctuary. During most of the year, a program for children is offered at the same time as the bible study.
Disciple Bible Study is a systematic in-depth study of the bible. It is not primarily an academic study, however. This study focuses not on information so much as transformation. Many people have found Disciple Bible Study to be a life-changing experience. Classes usually start in September and finish sometime in the spring after taking off a week or two at Christmas time. Classes are scheduled at times which are convenient for the most people wishing to participate.
The first year class offers an overview of the whole bible. This study provides an excellent foundation for a lifetime of bible study, and it often results in long-term Christian friendships. The second year class examines Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts. There are also third-year and fourth-year classes.
Our Sunday Afternoon Small Group explores various relevant topics from a biblical point of view. This group meets most Sunday afternoons at 3:00 in the conference room, around the corner from the sanctuary.
